Jordan Risha Contract Area
The Risha contract area was handed to the National Petroleum Company of Jordan under a concession for period of 50 years from 1996 until 2046
Production began from the Risha gas field in 1989 after the completion of the construction of the gas treatment plant and the Risha power plant. The field has a daily production rate of 9-10 MMCF, which are supplied for the power station on the site.
The field and power station contributes around 2% of the Kingdom’s needs of electric power.
The total number of wells drilled in the Risha gas field 48 well.
The cumulative production of the gas feather field as of 31 December 2020 was equivalent to (230) billion cubic feet.
The National Petroleum Company continued to explore and explore natural gas in its concession area in the Risha gas field, including the entry of BP as a strategic partner in 2010 and withdrew in 2014 without adding any production quantities during its existence.
During the last two years 2019 and 2020, the company has also discovered three gas-producing wells (RH-53, RH-49, RH-48) that have contributed to more than double the production capacity of the beginning of 2019.
